Extension to Fr. Peyton Memorial Centre, Attymass, Co. Mayo
The Fr Peyton Memorial Centre was designed by John Halligan Architects in 1997. The Memorial Centre strives to meet its objectives through its involvement with the religious programmes in the schools, adult spiritual renewal courses, retreats, pastoral meetings, and personal spiritual counselling.
The communal facility that the Centre provides for the locality is very much in demand. Management work in conjunction with Health Services Executive to provide recreational facilities for the senior citizens of the area and a meals–on-wheels service. Parishioners avail of the restaurant facilities for family occasions.
John Halligan Architects were commissioned as design team leader to deliver an extension to the centre to provide 8 no. bedrooms to cater for visiting clergy on retreat and occasional overnight care for sick. The extension also has a day room and landscaped external spaces.
